Interiors are a lighting problem before anything else

Interior photography is decided by light, because a room photographed badly looks smaller, darker and less finished than it is.

Windows and interior lighting sit at completely different brightness levels, which is why an untreated interior photograph shows either a blown out window or a dark room.
